Ducketts Mill Wines is a family owned and operated business, situated in the
picturesque Scotsdale Valley of Denmark, Western Australia. This region
is becoming renowned for its excellent wine grape growing, due to the
cool temperate climate and rich soils.
Ross and Dallas Lewis, together with their sons Matt and Ben, recognised
the enormous potential to produce high quality wines on their property
and thus established the vineyard in 1996. In the early years, grapes
were supplied to other wineries until it was suggested that they
produce their own label. Hence, the first vintage under the Ducketts
Mill Wines label was released in 2004. This proved to be a very
successful beginning with two awards being attained for their 2004 Late
Harvest Riesling and 2004 Riesling - a silver and bronze at the 2004
Qantas Mount Barker Wine Show.
Currently the vineyard has twenty acres of vines with more planned in the future.
Along with Ducketts Mill Wines the family also operates Denmark Farmhouse Cheese, the only cheese factory in Western Australia's Great Southern region.
